FSDG Flight Suite Pro can not find recorded flights

Hello,

after installation of Flight Suite Pro the documents folder is recognized correctly (picture 1) and flights are there (jsonl-files).
Unfortunately the flights won't be found by Analyzer and Logbook, because these programs use a different documents folder (picture 2)

Is there a fix?

Ok, looks like our Flight Suite was confused by the folder "Dokumente". We will have to make it foolproof for a setup like that. In the meantime, you can manually change the path in the config.ini (C:\Users\manfr\Documents\FSDG\FSDG_Flight_Suite)

flights_folder = C:\Users\manfr\Documents\FSDG\FSDG_Flight_Suite\flights

That should work.

2. The Path in 'last_tracked_flight_scan_folder' will be overwritten with the wrong (default) path, the next time the Logbook or Analyzer starts

Are you sure the [Paths] section does not exist? In the latest version (v1.2 - you already have that) there should definitely be a Paths section in the config.ini below the logbook sections.

Just to clarify this: Where did the tracker save your flight files to? D:Documents or the manfr/documents folder?

Now I got it.

My official Windows-Documents folder is D:\Dokumente. This is where the flight are stored. The config.ini in this documents folder has a [paths]-section with the - correct - Path, which is 'D:\Dokumente\FSDG\FSDG_Flight_Suite\flights'

Now I changed that path to the (old/default) documents folder 'C:\Users\manfr\Documents\FSDG\FSDG_Flight_Suite\flights', where Logbook and Analyzer searches for flights. BTW. There is also a config.ini, where I wrote before.

Now I copied all my flights from D:\Dokumente to C:\Users\manfr\Documents and voila - Logbook and Analyzer can find the flights.

Unfortunately it is very uncomfortable to copy each flight over to C:, so I hope this can be fixed soon

That really is an unusual setup. But it should nonetheless work.
I would like to ask you to help us fix this issue. Could you please do the following?

1. Backup the flights folder somewhere
2. Uninstall the Flight Suite
3. Manually remove the FSDG_Flight_Suite and its contents folder from both Documents locations
4. Reinstall the Flight Suite
5. Do NOT open the Tracker, but please check first where the installer installed the FSDG_Flight_Suite folder with the config.ini? In the D/Documents folder or in C:/users/manfr/documents?

I need that information to make sure I can update the installer to work with this kind of setup. Thanks

OK,

- I have uninstalled the Suite and then removed every trace under D:\Dokumente and C:\Users\manfr\Documents
- Then reinstalled the suite, unfortunately the tracker starts automatically after installation.

- Nevertheless, the config.ini, as well as the folders "flights", "logs", are created under D:\Dokumente\FSDG\...
- Looking into C:\User\manfr\Documents, there is nothing with "FSDG\..." created (its empty)
- everything looks good so far

but

- then after launching Logbook, new folders where created under C:\Users\manfr\Documents\FSDG\.. and a new config.ini with no [path]-section in it (as described above)

BTW
I do not think, that my setup is unusual. You can move the documents folder - as well as photos, videos, download-folders - officially via the properties tab after windows installation. unfortunately %userprofile%/documents still points to the old default location.

Ok, thanks. That's enough for me to update the Suite. New version will be available tomorrow, and it will only use the correct Documents folder.
