I understand the desire to use advertising to generate revenue from freeware.
But the listing for the Maldives Haa Alifu Atoll scenery pack should contain a disclaimer letting us know that's the case, and offer an option to purchase the same scenery 'ad-free.' The MSFS forum had a discussion about this, and the threads were locked because a supposed 'fix' was offered. That 'fix' involved the end user editing folder content. Users should not be forced to take that step.
I pay extra for quality 'ad-free' streaming services. Those providers offer me as a consumer that option. And I don't have to hack the service to get it. Please consider using the same model with your product.
You can argue that users can uninstall freeware they don't like (for whatever reason.) But wouldn't it be in FSDG's best interest not to leave a sour taste in their mouth by surprising them with unwanted ads? The surprise advertising (see attachment) generated quite a bit of negative press for your company, before the MSFS forum moderators shut those threads down. You have options. Give us the option to enjoy the content without annoying embedded ads.

Re: Advertising embedded in Maldives Haa Alifu Atoll freeware
Thanks for your feedback.
There's a specific reason we included that message. Since the Freeware was released several weeks before out VRMM scenery, we want our happy customers to know that there's something coming - and that they don't need to download or purchase any other VRMM scenery just because there's nothing available from us right now.
We made it very easy to disable that message, since the file in the scenery folder is quite self-explanatory.
Only a very short time before the message is gone anyway, though, as we are getting close to the release of our upcoming VRMM, North Male Atoll and South Male Atoll addons.
