Cannot load Mauritius after FS2020 sim update 5
Hi,
I bought this via the MS FS marketplace and was fine before the SU5 this week. Thought I would let you know.
I really like this airport and can you advise please what I can do or do we wait for Microsoft / Asobo to fix ?
I have uninstalled and reinstalled with no success.
So just to clarify.
In the world map if I choose FIMP as my starting location it goes to the loading screen then nothing, even in task manager the simulator is not highest user anymore so i have no option but to end task the whole simulator as it does not respond. Other airports are fine, just this one.
Thanks
Mansoor

Re: Cannot load Mauritius after FS2020 sim update 5
Thanks for the report. We do not have any issues with Mauritius in the new sim at the moment, but it looks like some users do.
There's something that has changed in the new version that can lead to those crashes, but we're not quite sure what it is at the moment. Probable source of the issue is the cgl file, which is quite big in case of Mauritius.
We hope we can provide a fix for the crashes soon.

Re: Cannot load Mauritius after FS2020 sim update 5
as stated in my ticket after hotfix is still the same problem. It's your add on. If I delete is I can go depart from the airport not from your add on.

Re: Cannot load Mauritius after FS2020 sim update 5
I have a friend that has the same add on he bought from Aerosoft and that's version 1.1 and works after Sim Update 5 + hotfix. I see in manifest.json mine from in sim purchase as with MannyFS2020 too it shows "package_version": "1.2.0". Can I het version 1.1 too please.

Re: Cannot load Mauritius after FS2020 sim update 5
We're looking into it. There will not be a quick fix for this, though, since the issue results from changes in the MSFS engine. We currently don't know which changes, so we're depending on information from the MSFS team.

Re: Cannot load Mauritius after FS2020 sim update 5
Still after hotfix cannot load into FIMP.
I have made this complaint to the FS forums and they say it is upto the addon makers. So over to you guys or I want a refund as I paid for this airport FIMP and its not working.

We will inform you as soon as we found out what causes these crashes.
The scenery worked before, and it will work again.

Re: Cannot load Mauritius after FS2020 sim update 5
Can you please disable/backup/remove the cgl file in the CGL/301 folder and test if the crash still occurs?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: Cannot load Mauritius after FS2020 sim update 5
FSDG-(Fimp-)Mauritius/CGL/301/sai032.cgl
If the crash still occurs, please also disable FSDG-(Fimp-)Mauritius/scenery/woods/cvx0010.bgl
The crashes might be linked to one of these two files.

Re: Cannot load Mauritius after FS2020 sim update 5
Hello Thorsten,
I registered to be part of your forums. A lot easier than sending emails back and forth. I also would have known much sooner about the FIMP problem being caused by SU5!
So, I read this thread and found the following by searching my PC manually:
C:/Users/MyName/AppData/Local/Packages/Microsoft.FlightSimulator_randomnumbers/LocalCache/Packages/Official/OneStore/fsdg-fimp-mauritius/CGL/301/sai032.cgl
I created a new folder in CGL/301 and named it "orig-cgl_moved_out" then cut the sai032.cgl out and pasted it into that new folder.
As for the 2nd file you recommend disabling, I cannot find "woods/cvx0010.bgl" in the scenery folder you mentioned. See screenshot of my folder structure - I found the following:
Official/OneStore/fsdg-fimp-mauritius/scenery/modellib(folder full of bgl files)and Bgl.fsarchive in that scenery folder but there isn't a "woods/cvx0010.bgl" file in there.
Perhaps this is because I have FS2020 installed in my SSD D:/ drive? I'm not allowed to modify/delete/rename anything in my D:/ drive even though I took ownership a very long time ago. For example - I'm not even allowed to modify the flight.simulator.exe properties to check the "run as administrator" box. I need to run it administrator every time I launch it (sometimes I forget but the sim still runs ok). What I find strange is that around 8 - 9 months ago, when this PC was 1st fired up, I did a fresh Win 10 install on my SSD C:/ drive and a fresh install of FS2020 on my SSD D:/ drive - I WAS ALLOWED to change FS2020 exe properties to run it as administrator! What changed since then? A Windows update or a FS2020 update? I doubt that I'll never know the answer to that quandary.LOL
Having said all that-, if the "woods/cvx0010.bgl" is in my D:/ drive, I won't be allowed access to it unless I boot into safe mode. Even then I might not have permission. So, I am now going to fire up FS2020 and try going to FIMP now that "sai032.cgl" has been effectively disabled. Perhaps that'll be enough. Fingers crossed!
I will check back here later or tomorrow with a verdict (I'm in Western Australia and it's now 8:30 PM).
Best regards
Bill A

Re: Cannot load Mauritius after FS2020 sim update 5
PS - I'm unable to attach a screenshot showing that I can't find the "woods/cvx0010.bgl" Can you please let me know if I can upload a screenshot here?
Not to worry. Going to start FS2020 now and hope FIMP shows up.
EDIT
Oh well, That was a fruitless exercise. Did what you recommended by disabling sai032.cgl and it still won't load. I'll have to wait for you folks to patch it. Hoping it's soon.
Cheers from Australia

That modellib folder and bgl file are all that are in your scenery folder?
Is there anyone affected by the CTDs, who has not purchased through the MSFS store?

Re: Cannot load Mauritius after FS2020 sim update 5
Hello Thorsten,
Yes that's all the content I have within the FIMP scenery folder.
Yes, the sim is freezing for everyone else I spoke to who use the Microsoft Store version of FS2020 whom bought FIMP through Marketplace within FS2020 itself and, as far as I can tell, it's happening to those using the Microsoft store version of FS2020 on their PC. I also don't know if this is happening to STEAM or Xbox versions. In fact, I don't personally know anyone using FS2020 on Xbox. Yesterday I posted about this "Freezing" issue in the MS FS2020 forum but I haven't gotten a reply from anyone to date.
Do you think that there is something missing from my FIMP scenery folder? Could this be a "simple" installer issue? If there were a way to try and install FIMP using a downloaded installer from FSDG, rather than using the Marketplace/ Content manager system I'd definitely try doing it that way as a test.
What do you recommend I do from here? I'm open to suggestions

Re: Cannot load Mauritius after FS2020 sim update 5
Thanks for the feedback. There was a miscommunication between me and the MSFS store team. I don't think there's something missing on your side, just needed to check if there are any other files.
Unfortunately, the MSFS store team archives all bgl files into one - that is most probably the source of the issue in this case. We're in talks with them to change that.
I'll keep you updated.
