FSDG Walvis MSFS
FSDG Walvis MSFS
Hi firstly , beautifully made scenery and thank you
The scenery is heavy on frames though , your Windhoek is 10 to 15 more frames..

Re: FSDG Walvis MSFS
There should be no fps hit with either scenery. Can you please tell us your fps with Walvis Bay disabled and enabled?

Re: FSDG Walvis MSFS
Thank you for providing these screenshots. Unfortunately, we cannot reproduce that effect on our test computers. The fps impact of both these sceneries should be close to none. I would think there was some other setting used between the screenshots.
The complexity of the scenery would - even if it was created poorly (with no understanding on how to develop performance-friendly) - not have that kind of impact. Maybe there was some AI traffic involved, or another addon that added some content, like animals or weather?

Re: FSDG Walvis MSFS
We usually test our sceneries with all settings to max to see the full potential performance impact.
We had no other reports similar to yours. Do you have performance impact at other airports / with other addons as well?

Re: FSDG Walvis MSFS
I don't have a performance issue on any other airports, I have around 20 pay ware ones , this one is the only one ,horst18519 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 01, 2020 7:19 pmWe usually test our sceneries with all settings to max to see the full potential performance impact.

I have tested on my other system with same CPU , 2080ti 32GB also a huge hit as this is at 2K
I will send screen shots .

Re: FSDG Walvis MSFS
The only reason I could think of, that might cause some fps hit, is the flamingos we placed near the airport. MSFS doesn't seem to like those scripted items, so using them can hit the performance. You might have similar fps drops in the vicinity of other fauna POIs.
We can't reproduce these hits, so I can't tell if that might be the reason for you. 30fps should still be quite good, though.

Re: FSDG Walvis MSFS
I also looked into it, but do not see an impact on FPS... One thing you could try is removing all add-ons from your community folder except Walvis Bay, to rule out other add-ons.
i9-12900k, 32GB RAM, Geforce 3080 10GB, Microsoft Flight Simulator, Windows 11 22H2 x64 Home NL
Re: FSDG Walvis MSFS
Hi there again ,
I did some tests ,
I loaded at many different airports with pay ware airports ,
FYWB had a bigger framerate decrease than KATL ...
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/ ... sp=sharing
above is a link with screenshots , also I then removed everything from community folder , same FPS ,
I included my settings
https://prnt.sc/w0o4gl Walvisbay FPS
https://prnt.sc/w0o6ye Atlanta FPS
https://prnt.sc/w0o9hj Manchester FPS
Please help ,
Regards
Lawrence

Re: FSDG Walvis MSFS
I can confirm I'm also getting 10fps less at Walvis Bay compared to any other airport in South Africa.

Re: FSDG Walvis MSFS
We tested the scenery very thoroughly and could not find any significant performance impacts.
MSFS has been quite unstable and unpredictable lately, with the new update. We expect to be able to run more tests with our sceneries once we have a more stable MSFS version.

Re: FSDG Walvis MSFS
Don't know if it helps but at FYWB my GPU sits at 50% hence the frame drop. Hope it helps you find the problem.
Re: FSDG Walvis MSFS
This is an old discussion but let me post anyway...SU5, FPS at airports is at 36 fps and up but still 26 fps at Walvis Bay . So sad.
