Heraklion X blast fences

Post by flylgw » Sun Dec 02, 2012 10:43 am

Hi,

Please could the bast fences at at Heraklion be corrected at stands 13 and 15.

At stand 13 the blast fence is too long and is blocking the fire engines leaving the fire station.

At stand 15 there is no end blast fence.

Thanks

According to our reference material and recent satellite material, you can see the actual blast fence behind stand 15 (attached).

The length of the fence behind stand 13 is very similar to that of 15.
I can see that it somehow blocks the firestation exit, but this is unavoidable due to a technical difficulty in placement.

Hi Emilios,

Thanks for the reply.

Sorry for the confusion about stand 15, looking at the satellite image the angled end is missing (like stands 14 & 13 have).

I've boxed around the section I mean.

I m still not sure what you mean.

Both the horizontal and the angled blast fences are in that satellite image, at least with my eyes :)

Hello Emilios,

What I'm trying to say is that the angled end on stand 15 (that I put a red box around on the satellite image) is missing in the fsx scenery.

Just to confirm that you cannot make the blast fence shorter at stand 13 so that it dosn't block the fire station? As the satellite images shows that it doesn't block the fire station in the real world.

The screenshot below is from fsx showing the missing angled end on stand 15.

Thanks for the extra info. OK now I see :)

I am afraid that an official update to correct this, if any, will be coming much later. The reason is that this is not a major issue or performance related.

But I could perhaps supply a 'local' file through the forums to fix this.

Your blast 'extension' is attached :)

Just unzip the contents and transfer the folder named 'Aerosoft' into your main FSX installation location. You should be asked to replace a file, accept it.

Any trouble, let me know.

Hello Emilios,

I having some problems installing the fix.

When I download the file, there is only a 7Z file named LGIR_Blast Stand15.7z

I cannot see a folder named Aerosoft in the downloaded file.

When I placed the LGIR_Blast Stand15.7z file into the FSX main folder, it didn't ask if I wanted to replace an existing file.

Please confirm the download should contain a folder named Aerosoft, that I should place directly in the FSX main folder - not a subfolder?

Thanks

You need to unpack the file first :)

You can use a simple program to do this like this one here : http://www.7-zip.org/

After installing 7z, just place the file on your desktop, right-click on it and press 'Extract here'. You will then see your Aerosoft folder.
