Error message on P3D v4 Loading

Post by JamesIceland » Mon Aug 28, 2017 11:27 am

In addition to my previous post regarding the Scenery Configuration Tool, I also have an error that occurs on each P3D v4 start up since installing FSDG scenery.

I currently have Nuuk, Mauritius, Reunion and Thessaloniki installed.

Please see attached screenshot to see the error I get but it seems to relate to duplicate file names for some of your Simobject Airplanes. I have thought about going in and renaming the cause but I'm not confident doing so. Cancelling the error allows P3D to load up with seemingly no adverse effects but I am not sure I am able to see the aircraft that are supposed to be there anyway. I do use UT2 Live for traffic separately.

I have moved the scenery from your default install location to another drive and followed the steps exactly. Everything seems to work ok apart from this.

Please advise how to resolve as I would like to get rid of this error on start up and ensure the FSDG scenery is working as advertised.

Many thanks

James

That was a small mistake we made with one of the aircraft.cfg files for our FSDG-Reunion AI aircraft. The error should not affect scenery or AI, but if you want to avoid it open the folder FSX(orP3D)\SimObjects\Airplanes\FSDG_AI_DashQ8 and open the aircraft.cfg in an editor. Remove the following lines:

Code: Select all

title=de Havilland Dash 8Q-300 - Nuuk X - Air Greenland
sim=Dash8Q
model=
panel=
sound=
texture=
kb_checklists=
kb_reference=
atc_id=
atc_model=Dash8
atc_airline=Greenland Air
atc_flight_number=78
atc_parking_types=RAMP
ui_manufacturer="de Havilland"
ui_type="Dash 8Q-300"
ui_variation="Greenland Air"
ui_typerole="Twin Engine TurboProp"
ui_createdby="FSDG"

[fltsim.1]
The remaining file should then look like this:

Code: Select all

[fltsim.0]
title=FSDG - de Havilland Dash 8Q-300 - French Air Force
sim=Dash8Q
model=
panel=
sound=
texture=reu
kb_checklists=
kb_reference=
atc_id=
atc_model=Dash8
atc_flight_number=
atc_parking_types=MIL_CARGO
ui_manufacturer="de Havilland"
ui_type="Dash 8Q-300"
ui_variation="French Air Force"
ui_typerole="Twin Engine TurboProp"
ui_createdby="FSDG"

Thank you, that fixed it for me.
