Just want to know if you guys have any plans for P3Dv4 concerning compatibility i.e new installer for FSIA and FMEE. Want to fly your beautiful sceneries in 64bit
Alhtough P3Dv4 compatible installers are not out yet, are sceneries are compatible with v4. This means that by manually installing our sceneries (by selecting the appropriate path in the installer+adding the entries into scenery library of P3Dv4) you should have no issues. If you do spot anything odd let us know please
I made a first test with Ayers Rock scenery copying FSX\FSDG folder to P3Dv4 folder. Then I also copied FSX\Effects\FSDG* and FSX\Effects\Textures\FSDG* to the P3Dv4 effects folders.
I declared FSDG-Ayers Rock into P3Dv4 and all seems ok. Just a problem with lights halo missplaced or lighting the sky instead of the ground.
Perhaps you'll provide patches to apply to your sceneries without waiting a new installer dedicated to P3Dv4?
We'll inform you here in our forum as well as on our Facebook page as soon as the new installers are ready (we realize we have quite a few addons yet...).
Ok I'll monitor Aerosoft shop to see if they update the installers (new date).
Be advised I had problems installing Cape Verde and Tromlin. My scenery.cfg has been corupted (a strange last line with characters I can't read at the end of the file instead of the new entries). I had to manually add them.
Enclosed my scenery.cfg before Tromelin (and after Cape Verde). I recovered using the "before Cape Verde" backup.
Same problem with La Réunion install which corrupt my scenery.cfg. What can be wrong?
I also noticed that runways and taxiways beacons have a strange look when at a few meters (see pic enclosed). I tried to disable dynamic lightning but no change.
We're looking into the scenery.cfg issue. Seems to affect a certain version of P3Dv4 only.
As for the lights, we'll probably have to use a different technology for P3D. Unfortunately P3Dv4 renders that kind of light a lot different than FSX, which really is a shame since they look so nice in FSX. We consider this a bug, but apparently LM doesn't...
