Pilots of the Caribbean - Bundle

Post by JoseCFII » Mon Apr 09, 2018 1:21 pm

I'm very interested in purchasing this addon, but there are no pics of TLPL or TLPC that can cajole me to make the purchase. I see some pics of St Vincent airports, but few of ST. Lucia.

Can you please post some pics so that I can make a decision or I'll have to settle for just ST. Vincent.

Thanks.
Jose

We're currently working on TLPC and TLPL. You can trust it'll be the same FSDG quality as usual. ;-)
Of course you can wait and see yourself and then buy the bundle - or buy St Vincent now and the rest later.

Hi Thorsten,

Are you saying that if I buy the bundle, St. Lucia will not be included right now?

I don't see it available for purchase as a stand alone, but the bundle is supposed to include it.

Parts 2 & 3 of the Pilots of the Caribbean set will be released in May, that's why those are not yet available as standalone addons. If you purchase the bundle now you'll only be able to download St Vincent at this time. The other 2 parts (downloads) will be added as soon as they're finished.
We decided to do it this way because we want users to be able to get the 20% bundle discount and not have to wait for St Vincent until the 3rd POTC part is finished.

Thanks for the explanation. It makes sense.

One last question. I'm a big fan of the Caribbean and of FSDG airports. Can you share what other Islands the team will be considering?

I'd love to see TFFS & Guadeloupe one day in p3d v4.

2018 will bring you Martinique (TFFF + island) and La Romana LITE (LDMR airport only) from FSDG. It would make sense to add Dominica and Guadeloupe later, but we're yet unsure if we'll make those. We are in talks with another development team to see if we can split those islands between us. Same for Barbados. We won't approach TBPB before construction work for the new facilities is finished though. That might not be before 2020.

Thanks for the info.

TFFF & Island will be an excellent addition.

Looking forward to St. Lucia & TFFF.

Added St. Vincent today and I have some feedback.

Is there a way to adjust the size of the 3d lights? They are big square shimmering blobs. I'd prefer circular small lights that do not shimmer. I have the same issue with Reunion Island. For now I just disable them.

I'm also experiencing some stutters at TVSV. Not a big deal since it has been decommissioned.

Thanks for creating this lovely Island.

We're looking into the 3D lights issue. Regarding stutters we did not experience any in testing. If they're around TVSV that's probably related to a combination of very high autogen settings, road traffic and possibly 3D lights. There are quite a lot of all those around Kingstown.

Thanks for trying the fix the 3d lights. These look like the same lights in Reunion Island. Hopefully those can be replaced as well.

I'm just spoiled by Corfu. That airport is perfection (day, dusk, or night) A gem! I have no idea how Emilios did it, but he managed to get crisp & clear textures along with beautiful dusk 3d lighting and the performance is through the roof. I'm not exaggerating!

I'm currently looking for the proper pronunciation of TVSA so the at I can add it via editvoicepack.

Can you add a couple of planes to TVSA? The airport looks empty without some planes.

Hi

I am interested in the bundle myself as well. However, I dont really care for the fictional island so in volume three the only benefit would be the addon local AI traffic for me. Im building my own commercial Caribbean AI traffic with FAIB AI models etc and schedules from alpha india website so depending on the detail in your AI pacakge it might still be interesting as long as the fictional island can be deselected?

Another important question before I go ahead and purchase any volumes is if they are compatible with Flytampa Grenadine islands. They are absolutely awesome as well and still work great in P3d v4.

We'll update the content list once release is near. Part III will include air and sea traffic as well as ship wrecks, animals, new SimObjects and of course the missions.
The included island is actually real, we just placed a few objects there to make it the pirates home base. It will be compatible with flyTampa's Grenadines.

If anything, please include Mustique Air and SVG Air in your 3rd volume, those schedules and repaints are very hard to come over. The rest of the smaller Airlines like (Liat, Caribbean Airlines etc) are easy to compile ourself with already available Schedules, models and repaints.

Which models would you like? We have both airlines included with Twin Otters.

That sounds about right, both use the Twin Otter. I Believe SVG has the new repaint with the white body and with some variation among others a palmtree logo on the tail. Mustique use the BN2 Islander as well with a really nice looking paint. With some nice repaints it might really be worth it... as long as I can deactivate the pirates :)
