Kastellorizo town and island colour mismatch
Hi there,
Please see the attached screenshot showing a clear colour mismatch between the town and island on Kastellorizo (v2.1 in P3D 4.1 though I see the same in FSX)
Is anyone else seeing this? It doesn't look like the screenshots!
Can I take the opportunity to say how much I like your sceneries - they are some of the finest out there.
All the best,
John

It should more look like this in P3Dv4:
The terrain resolution seems pretty low in your screenshot. Maybe you could also play with some other settings in the graphics menu.

Re: Kastellorizo town and island colour mismatch
Hi Horst,
Thanks for the reply - I've been away for a few days so have only just got round to trying again with this issue.
I set the mesh resolution to 1m and tried various lighting settings but to no avail.
It appears that the colours produced by the files cvxLGKJ-LC.BGL and LGKJ-LC_LandClass.BGL are paler on my system than they appear on your screenshot, they are certainly much less green than those produced by the file Kastellorizo_TownModel.BGL.
I have the scenery installed separately in FSX, P3Dv3 and P3Dv4 and see the same in all 3 simulators so something strange seems to be happening at my end.
Let me know if you have any ideas - I'll post here if I find a solution.
All the best,
John

Re: Kastellorizo town and island colour mismatch
Found it.
The clue I needed was that I was dealing with files with LC in the name!
ORBX replaces the default lclookup.bgl in scenery\base\scenery.
I put the default version back in place and all appears as it should.
So I guess I'll just have to swap those files if I want to enjoy your scenery as intended.
All the best,
John

Wow, that was quite a find - well done! I wasn't aware of any incompatibility with ftx. We'll have to look into this.

Hi Thorsten,
I'd say the incompatability is more on their side in this case, but if you can all get together and find a fix, that would be great!
All the best,
John

Re: Kastellorizo town and island colour mismatch
I have had the same problem for months.
What is the fix? Where is the original lclookup.bgl? Is it the one provided when installing FSX SE? I do have the original file...
Is it to put the original lclookup.bgl in scenery\base\scenery?
But will this affect ORBX?
When does ORBX puts back the lclookup.bgl? Each time we run FTX Central v3?
Thank you.

Re: Kastellorizo town and island colour mismatch
Hi Raymond,
Whenever you run FTX Central the lclookup.bgl file is replaced with the ORBX version.
So if you replace it with the original file you have backed up you will be able to enjoy Kastellorizo as intended then run FTX Central when you want to enjoy the ORBX scenery.
If you don't want to run FTX Central then rename your current lclookup.bgl file to, for example, lclookup.orbx and copy the original file in it's place.
When you want to go back to using ORBX scenery just delete the lclookup.bgl and rename lclookup.orbx as lclookup.bgl.
Hopefully a more elegant solution can be found!
All the best,
John

Thank you John.
Indeed, hopefully a more elegant solution can be found, as this is not ideal!
