LOWG: Ground layer problem after update to P3D v3.3
LOWG: Ground layer problem after update to P3D v3.3
Hello FSDG-Team!
After updating form P3D v3.2 to v3.3 (client only) i get weird behavior at LOWG.
Depending on viewing angle the visibility of the taxilines and ground textures change
De- and Reinstalling did not solve it.
Can you reproduce the issue?
Regards
Stephan

We are not aware of that kind of problem. Since you just updated P3D I guess it would be related to that. A new install of Graz should've solved the problem, but maybe you can do it again by first removing the addon using the uninstaller and then doing a new install of the airport.
Do you have any other addons that could cause any conflicts?

Hello Thorsten!
The 2nd attempt deinstalling and reinstalling did not fix it.
I don´t have this issue at FSDG LGIR and LGTS, nor at any other airport e.g. FT EKCH, ORBX ESSA, T2G EDDM, AS EDDFv2 i checked yet.
Can you confirm that this behavior doesn´t show up on your system running P3Dv3.3?
Other addons: FS Global Mesh 2010, Orbx Global, Orbx Vector, Orbx OpenLC EU.

Re: LOWG: Ground layer problem after update to P3D v3.3
None of our testers have had any issues in P3Dv3. I just ran some additional tests with several view points, cannot reproduce this problem.
Do you have more than one bgl file containing LOWG in your P3D/scenery/world/scenery folder?

Re: LOWG: Ground layer problem after update to P3D v3.3
After installing the AFX_LOWG_Full.bgl it got much better. Only parts of the taxilines disapperar at certain viewing angles.
I don´t blame FSDG for this issue, but it is definately there - even if i disable every other addon scenery. I guess its related to v3.3, GSX or a graphic driver issue (GTX 970 with 368.22 WHQL)

Re: LOWG: Ground layer problem after update to P3D v3.3
Normally I would say changing the AFD file cannot make any difference, but since it does we will have to figure out why this is the case.
I think it could be related to an altitude problem. There's this elevation fix tool for ftx, did you run that?
FS Global also changes the elevation of multiple airports. Maybe it's good to check that as well.

Yes, i checked the FTX Vector Configurator - There is no elevation correction at LOWG.
The "local meshes" of FS Global are deactivated.
I double checked: the AFCADs make a huge difference.

Thorsten, over ADX someone claims the issue related to FSX 2002 SDK, maybe this will give you some indications where to look for the bug:horst18519 wrote:Normally I would say changing the AFD file cannot make any difference, but since it does we will have to figure out why this is the case.

Re: LOWG: Ground layer problem after update to P3D v3.3
Thanks for pointing this out. I only then realized I misread the original post - I thought you updated from P3Dv2 to v3, Stephan, but you were talking about the new v3.3 they released a couple of days ago. We didn't yet have time to thoroughly test our sceneries with v3.3 but this indeed looks like a bug preventing 2002 ground to work correctly. Most payware addon airports use this technique so I'm sure they'll fix this bug to solve those problems.
