LGRP installation problem
Hello
I have installed LGRP on my FSX-SE and tried to look at the scenery.
Things look strange, the runway texture is moving to grass looking texture, I have building all black , cars driving on the grass ... It seems that something has not been properly installed.
I needed to add manually the FSDG-Rhodes folder to my FSX Scenery.
I have attached a screenshot for you to see my problem.
Thanks for your help
Regards
Marc Lionti

Re: LGRP installation problem
Please do not install or move our files manually. That will result in missing textures or other problems with the scenery like the one you posted.
Please completely remove the files, then run the installer again.
If (for some reason) the scenery is not added to the scenery library automatically when exiting the installer, you might need to add FSDG-Rhodes folder manually to the scenery library. Do not move the files though.

Re: LGRP installation problem
Hello,
I have not moved the files, I have just added the folder to the scenery library. I have moved nothing. They were installed into a "Simmarket" folder inside FSX main folder.
I did exactly as you said : removed the files and run the installer again. I used another folder though. I still get the same problem as posted yesterday.
In the mean time I got an error from FSX that said error in SCENERY.CFG and could'nt find "Area.147"....
Thanks for your help
Marc

Re: LGRP installation problem
Hello, could you please help ?
Any way I try the install and setup, I end up with the same result ... I can't use the airport like this.
I might be missing something, or perhaps my installation is specific (too much), but this is rather annoying ...
All seems fine but when I am on the runway it's getting in grass ...
Thank you for your help !
Best regards
Marc

Re: LGRP installation problem
Please completely remove the addon again - run fsx and check if the (default) airport looks the way it's supposed to - if that is the case, run the installer again - do NOT manually move or copy any files - run fsx and post a screenshot of the scenery and the scenery library.

Re: LGRP installation problem
Hello,
Thanks for your answer.
I did that already 3 times with no success.
Perhaps I give you some detailed info about my setup because my guts feeling is that somewhere an ini file or a setup routine has missed something (all the files seems to be there where they should be, just it doesn't work properly when I run FSX).
- My FSX-SE in installed under Steam folder as it has to be, on my D: drive under D:\Theo\Steam\steamapps\common\FSX
- The fsx.cfg file is named "fsx-se.cfg" on my system (coexistence was detected at the time of installation) and is located in :
C:\Users\Captain Marco\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX-SE (note it's on my C: drive).
- The image of the scenery result you have it already (mainly the runway turning to grass and buildings skeletons all black) on my previous post.
- As per the library manager, is all right with a declared scenery that is called "FDSG-Rhodes", activated, and that points towards the following installation folder : C:\Simmarket\FSDG\FSDG-Rhodes (It is where I installed the addon : C:\Simmarket\).
- To make it complete, under regedit : HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator - Steam Edition
I have added a "Co-existence" value set to 1 (in case you check this). I needed to add this in order to have SODE work (for other addons).
I hope something will trigger a solution ...
Best regards

Re: LGRP installation problem
There are several problems in the screenshot you posted. One being the airport elevation, which is controlled by a small file (actually 2 files, one for LGRP and one for LGRD). Please search your PC system for these files:
AFX_LGRD_ALT.bgl
AFX_LGRP_ALT.bgl
They should be in D:\Theo\Steam\steamapps\common\FSX/Scenery/World/Scenery folder along with several other files. If they're not there, the runway is likely to be sunk in the terrain like in your screenshot.
The second problem is the missing textures on the autogen buildings. To fix that, you need to search for these files:
FSDG_Rho_Agn.dds
FSDG_Rho_AgnLM.dds
and place them in D:\Theo\Steam\steamapps\common\FSX/texture.
The installer usually does these things automatically. I can't tell why it didn't do it in your case.
