St Lucia TLPC P3Dv4.2

Post by ampharoah » Sun May 27, 2018 8:22 pm

Hi just purchased and installed your new P3Dv4 compatible Pilots of the Caribbean scenery for my Win 10 P3Dv4.2 system

There appears to be a problem with the tower not displaying correctly.

Please advise

It looks like something went wrong on installation. Please install the addon again.

Hi,

Thanks for getting back to me.

I tried a re-install. Made no difference.

I'm now trying a re-download and then re-install.

Ok,

Uninstalled, re-downloaded and re-installed.

Still the same problem.

Nothing to do with the install I think.

Maybe related to specular / reflection settings since it's the object with reflective windows that's missing. Any similar problems at TLPL?

Looks ok. Did you have an earlier TLPC scenery installed in your P3D?

So there is no ther TLPC scenery on your P3D that could interfere? Any other addon installed?

No other TLPC scenery in my scenery library.

Have LOTS of addons. Dont know which would be relevant?

Have Orbx Global, Orbx OpenLC America (which extends to St Lucia), FS Global Ultimate Mesh, PTA, ENVText and ENVShade, Active Sky etc etc

It could be helpful to disable them to see if one of them is related to the problem.
What scenery and graphics settings do you use?

Hi Thorsten,

Can change the situation by turning off other addons.

However left the sim to move from dusk to night and.......

Tower appears at 18 Hours 8 Minutes when airprt lights go on

I have never seen anything like that. I'm currently running out of ideas why that might happen. Can you please try to change some of your settings (HDR, scenery complexity, reflections, screen resolution)? The problem might have something to do with that, even though I'm not aware of any setting that would create this effect.

OK, found it,

Any use of Multi-sample Anti-Aliasing does not display tower other than at night.

Any Super-sample Anti-Aliasing setting paints the tower day and night.

I was running 4xMSAA

Interesting. I can't confirm this. No problems here with neither setting. Maybe a GFX driver issue. Can you please check if you have the latest drivers?
In any case good to know. We never ran into that kind of problem before but now I at least know where to look if we have any similar reports in the future.
