Very interesting! I didn't know, that there were gates supporting the A380 at CPH?? Is the rest of the airport even capable of handling the A380? I know that other airports, had several construction enhancements, to support this aircraft. Would be very interesting to see the A380 inserted on a route to CPH :D... Although I would have my doubts, that the passenger numbers would be sufficient.

Which gates would support the A380 then?

Hope to see some screenshots soon regarding this project. I was announced by Thorsten, soooo long ago! ;)

Best regards
The LH A380 visited CPH some years ago, so technically it is possible. However, the runway and taxiways are actually not wide enough for the A380 and I am sure you won't see a scheduled A380 route at CPH, before the taxiways and runways have been widened.
Fair enough! :)
That's kinda what I thought...

Thanks for the clarification, though.

While this is not the place for a longer discussion on this issue, I think the main problem at EKCH was the safety distance between outer main wheels and taxiway edges in the turns. And these places have been widened over the past year. So I wouldn't be surprised if regular A380 ops started before any kind of runway widening took place! (There are no plans for widening our runways and why would Copenhagen Airports spend the money on a stand that could handle the aircraft, if it couldn't land at the airport?)

With SAS withdrawing (at least seasonally) from the Bangkok service despite a significant seat demand, I have a notion that Thai would be using A380s into Copenhagen before long...
However, just to make it clear, this is pure speculation!

Still no previews to show us? You must have come further along the road since last shots?

Hmm... me too.
I'm trying to keep a little optimism, although it's hard...

I am also a little disappointed, but I am sure they do the best they can, given the circumstances.

I'm also sure it's only delayed because of the German scenery. Give them time and Thorsten will properly write something about CPH.

Don't worry Guys :)

We have some considerable delay on EKCH, DEX being just one of the reasons, but we will be able to announce a more accurate expected 'arrival' soon.

Apologies for that
