Re: HESH green surroundings

Moshe, we came across this issue in the beta test, but couldn't pinpoint exactly which addon did the texture swapping as well. I will find a way around this problem though and provide some files that will get rid of it, no matter what other addon you use.

Re: HESH green surroundings

Moshe, I guess you use UTX Africa? For some reason they decided to use green textures for a landclass definition that is desert-like in the default textures and should be desert-like. We have no influence on this. But we will look into this issue and might be able to give UTX users a workaround for ...

Re: Djerba X - Tarmac at night is blue / grey,Marking disapp

The addon, like most payware airport sceneries, is not DX10-comatible. If you use the DX10 preview you will get grey textures at night. We're sorry about this, but it's an FSX issue that Microsoft failed to solve.

Re: Spam

I had the same thought right now, but spam seems to come in waves in fact. If you find a solution for a certain sort, the next wave will hit you anyway. We're currently looking for a better way to prevent it in the first place, we'll get there eventually...

And it sure won't look like in the 3D rendering - those renderings are always way too "clean".

Re: Hurghada International Airport

Very nice indeed. :)

I'm afraid I won't go for another diving holiday in Hurghada before december (earliest), so at the moment the airport is not really on our desk, but it's certainly in one of the drawers if you know what I mean.

Re: Djerba X (FS2004) : can't get rid of the default buildin

Alex, please don't post screenshots that don't fit the forum. Don't exceed 800 pix width. Could you please tell us more about your specs? PC system, usual framerates on airports, scenery and gfx settings. Do you or do you not use the scenery shadow option and does it affect the framerate? There will...

Re: Djerba X (FS2004) : can't get rid of the default buildin

The update is ready, but unfortunately I wasn't able to finish the manual before flying to a research trip for one of our next projects. The update will be released this week.

Re: Some ideas for future add-ons

Why - are they closing the old Canaries? :hihi:

In fact I always wanted to do addons of some of those Atlantic Ocean islands, but it's impossible to access enough material for a decent addon.

Re: FS9 and shadows!

There are in fact no alpha channels for some of the DXT1 textures in the FS9 version, but only few. We will release an update soon that will also include a nice surprise for FSX users.

Patrick, you're right. Unfortunately, as this is a support forum and a lot of users are or will be registering to report an urgent issue it doesn't make sense to activate accounts or posts by moderators. We clean the forums daily though and immediately ban the users involved. We also have an anti bo...

Re: Djerba X (FS2004) : can't get rid of the default buildin

Yes, that is more or less what I would expect with shadows on. You can't compare a scenery that has shadows with another one that has none. It's like comparing 2 apples with 1 apple. But I think we'll soon release a small update with some performance improvements for FS9, for shadow-users and others...

Re: Djerba X (FS2004) : can't get rid of the default buildin

One thing we didn't mention yet is the "scenery shadows" option in FS9. All users with unexpected low fps in FS9 probably have those shadows enabled. For further explanation please read this: http://forum.flightsimdevelopmentgroup.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=152&p=431#p431 If you should still have bad f...

FS9 and shadows!

We received some criticism for unexpected low fps in our FS9 version of Djerba X. The reason is most probably the " scenery shadows " option. Let me explain this a bit: In FS9 and FSX you can select scenery shadows in the graphics settings. This usually costs a lot of fps - why? The GPU has to calcu...

Re: Djerba X (FS2004) : can't get rid of the default buildin

Alex, there's a reason the user can adjust the scenery and graphics settings. Every game and sim has it, so the user should definitely make use of it. The target for every developer should be to create products that are adjustable for every PC system. Unfortunately most developers don't and just tel...

Re: Some ideas for future add-ons

There's a rather simple version of the airport that can easily be googled. But as the airport is very interesting and often demanded we're considering it as one of the next FSDG addons.
